Ice Box that was a not-so-nice box

WHAT a mix-up: a chilling story for gourmets and shippers alike.

Disaster was in the making when a ship agent set the wrong temperatures on refrigerated containers, which are notoriously sensitive.

He sent a box of frozen beef on its voyage at plus four degrees centigrade, and a container full of bottled wine at minus 18.

The agent at the discharge port was told of the mistake - and boldly decided to 'rectify' the settings.

When the boxes were opened, the meat was in a shocking state, and a sorry mixture of white wine and broken glass flowed from the second container.
